Adam, Allah iptakan created without intermediary father and mother. Eve was born without women's intervention. And Isa only from a mother.
Maryam Gives Birth to a Noble Man
Mary is a good woman who takes care of herself and honor. We have written the story of Maryam guarding her purity with the title Maryam Exemplary for Muslimah.
News about the birth of Prophet Isa ﷺ spread slowly. One by one, people knew that Mary who had no husband gave birth to a son. When she was about to give birth to her son, Mary left alone at the eastern end of the al-Aqsa Mosque.
"So Mary conceived her, then she set aside herself with the content to a distant place." (QS: Maryam | Verse: 22).
Prophet Isa was born ﷺ in that place.
Mary was quiet and alone. He was afraid of circulating slander about himself in society. Of course they will ask where did he get the child? Where is your husband? Is it from adultery? Who is the father? And other accusations. He was afraid of all the rumors. This event was very hard for him. A woman will not stand if her honor is made despicable. Maryam is a shiddiqah woman. Worship expert. He devoted himself in a holy place. On noble land and qudus.
Mentioned, his family also asked about his son. About Isa bin Maryam. They asked, "Can plants grow without seeds?" Who first created the plant? Maryam replied rhetorically. They again asked, "Can trees grow without water?" Who created the tree for the first time? "Answered Maryam. They asked again for the third time, "Can a child be born without a father?" Mary replied, "Yes. Indeed Allah created Adam without father and mother ". They were silent.
Maryam's family is someone who loves and knows them. They also question. A feeling arises in their hearts. Then what about the people who are far away, the wicked, what will they say?
Humans in the state of Prophet Isa ﷺ are divided into three:
First: Jews. They accused him of being a child of adultery, because according to them Maryam committed adultery with Yusuf an-Najjar.
Second: Christians. They regard Jesus as a child of God. And the Most Holy of Allah.
Third: Muslims. They glorified Prophet Jesus as a prophet and apostle. But do not overdo it, by believing it as a servant of God.
Mary went to Bethlehem. When he got there he said,
"How come, it would be good if I die before this, and I become an item that does not mean, again forgotten". (QS: Mary | Verse: 23).
He hopes if he dies, because of the severity of the situation. Then Allah ﷻ comfort Mary with,
"Then called him from a low place:" Do not be sad, for your Lord has made a tributary under you. And shake the base of the date palm tree towards you, surely the tree will abort the ripe palm fruit to you, then eat, drink and have your mercy. "(QS: Maryam | Verse: 24-26).
Interpreters disagree about who called on Mary in this verse. Said bin Jubair, adh-Dhahhak, Amr bin Maimun etc. stated that it was Gabriel. Mujahid, al-Hasan, etc. states that Prophet Jesus spoke to Mary. He entertained him, Ibu O Mother, do not be sad ’. The child shows that his birth is a miracle and a gift from God ﷻ. Maryam became calm.
Maryam meets her people
After feeling calm, Mary came home and met her people. They said,
So Mary brought the child to his people by carrying him. His people said: "O Mary, indeed you have done something very utterly wrong. O sister of Aaron, your father is not an evil one and your mother is not an adulterer at all. (QS: Maryam | Verse: 27-28).
Unlike his family who questioned his situation, the wicked immediately accused Mary. They reviled Mary by doing something very obvious, namely adultery. They brought their parents who were fine, so that Maryam would be even more embarrassed.
They accused Zakariya of forgetting him. Without trial, they are judged by Zakariya by killing him. Some of them also accused Yusuf an-Najjar, Mary's cousin, of Isa's father.
Isa, a blessed baby
Mary knew, her child was able to speak and testify to them. He also said,
then Mary pointed to her son. They said: "How will we talk to a small child who is still in a swing?" (QS: Maryam | Verse: 29).
Isa gave an answer and testimony, denied the heinous accusations that were thrown at his mother.
Jesus said: "Verily I am a servant of Allah, He gave me the Book (the Gospel) and He made me a prophet," (QS: Mary | Verse: 30).
The first sentence from the oral Isa confirms that he is a servant of Allah ﷻ, not a child of God. At the same time also denied the accusation of his people against his mother. He denied the people who said they were God's children or adultery children.
and He made me a blessed person wherever I was, and He commanded me (founding) prayer and (fulfilling) charity as long as I lived; and devoted to my mother, and He did not make me an arrogant and wretched person. And prosperity may be bestowed upon me, on the day I was born, the day I died and on the day I was raised to life again ". (QS: Maryam | Verse: 31-33).
We close this story with the Qur'anic explanation of Prophet Isa ﷺ:
"That is Jesus the son of Mary, who said the right words, which they argued about the truth. It is not proper for God to have children, the Holy One. When He has set something, then He just says to him: "Be", then be it. "(QS: Maryam | Verse: 34-35).
