Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam reminded his people of the goodness that Allah bestowed upon them in the form of various sustenance. In fact, with all that, they do not need to tyrannize humans in matters of wealth. The Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam also threatened with adzab who surrounded them in the world before the hereafter. But they welcomed him with ridicule and refused the call while mocking.
They said,
"Hi Shu'aib, does your prayer (your religion) tell you that we leave what our fathers worship or forbid us to do what we want about our assets. Surely you are a very supportive person who has understanding. "(Hud: 87)
Namely, we will still endure worshiping what our fathers worship. And we will continue to act on our assets with the various forms of muamalat that we want, not under the rules or provisions of Allah and His messengers.
Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam said (as Allah said),
"O my people, what do you think if I have real evidence from my Rabb and bestowed upon me good rizki (should I violate his command?" (Hud: 88)
That is, that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala has provided me (with His sustenance).
Word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala,
"And I will not wrong you (by doing) what I forbid." (Hud: 88)
Namely, not I forbid you from a variety of bad muamalat and in it there are acts that abuse the people, but I am the first person to leave it, even though Allah has given me wealth and expanded sustenance for me. And I really need this muamalat connection. However, I am bound by the obligation to obey my Rabb. I do not mean by this action and my command to you except bring improvement. That is, as much as I can, I will try to make your world and the afterlife good.
"And there is no taufik for me but with (help) Allah. Only to God will I surrender and only to Him will I return. "(Hud: 88)
Then, he threatened them with the torment that had befallen the people of the time and place around them.
Word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala,
"Let no contradiction between me (with you) cause you to persecute, so that you will be overtaken by adzab as happened to Noah or Hud or the Salih, while the Lutites did not (also) far from you." (Hud: 89)
He offered them to repent and arouse their desire to repent. Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam said, as the word of God,
"And ask forgiveness from your Rabb then repent to Him. Surely my Rabb is Merciful, Merciful. "(Hud: 90)
But all those calls don't have the slightest rule. They said,
"We don't understand much of what you say." (Hud: 91)
These words are clear because of their stubbornness and enormous hatred of the truth.
"And indeed we really saw you someone who was weak among us; if not because your family must have stoned you, you are not an authority on our side either. "(Hud: 91)
And the word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala,
"Syu'aib replied," O my people, is my family more honorable in your view than Allah, whereas Allah has made you wasted behind you? Indeed, my Rabb covers what you do. '"(Hud: 92)
And when he saw their violence, he said:
ويا قوم اعملوا على مكانتكم إني عامل سوف تعلمون من يأتيه عذاب يخزيه ومن هو كاذب وارتقبوا إني معكم رقيب
"And (he said),‘ O my people, do according to your ability, in fact I will also do. Later you will find out who will be overwritten by adzab who humiliates him and who lies. And wait (adzab Allah), in fact I will wait with you. 'And when Our Adz came, We saved Shu'aib and those who believed with Him with mercy from Us. And those who were wronged were destroyed by a thunderous voice, and they died in their houses. "(Hud: 93-94)
Then God sent a great heat to those who blocked their breathing so they almost suffocated because of the enormity. At that time, God sent a cold cloud that overshadowed them, then they called to shelter under it. After they gathered beneath it, suddenly a great flame arose and burned them so that they died in adzab, humiliation and curses of all time.
Some lessons
1. To harm scales and doses specifically or to harm humans in general is a crime that deserves adzab in the world and the hereafter.
2. Disobedience that happens to someone who actually does not have a motivating factor in him and does not have the intention to disobey him, his sin is greater than someone who is mocked by a desire or need. Therefore, adultery carried out by an old man or a person who has been married, is far worse than zina by a young man or a person who has never been married.
3. Likewise pride in the self of the (poor) person is far worse than the pride possessed by someone who has assets. Likewise, theft carried out by people who actually do not need the stolen property is far greater than the theft carried out by people who really need their stolen property. Because of this, the Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam said as stated in the verse,
"Surely I see you in a good condition." (Hud: 84)
Namely, you are in a state of abundant pleasure and pleasure, so what really drives you so that you are greedy for what is in the hands of men in a way that is forbidden?
4. Another lesson, says Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta'ala,
"The rest (profit) of God is better for you." (Hud: 86)
In it there is an urge to be willing with what God gives, feel enough with the lawful and (stay away from) the unclean, limit the view to one's own property and do not need to look at human property.
5. In this story, there is a proposition that prayer is the cause of the implementation of a good and leaving it is a mockery and the fulfillment of advice for fellow servants of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
Unbelievers know that as they say to the Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam, the word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala tells of their words,
"Does your prayer tell you to leave what is worshiped by our fathers or forbid us to do what we want about our property. Surely you are a very supportive person who has understanding. "(Hud: 87)
And the word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala,
"Verily, the prayer prevents from (deeds) vile and disastrous." (Al-‘Anabut: 45)
From here, it is known the wisdom and grace of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala why He obliged this prayer to us five times a night, (ie) because of its high value and how great its benefits and very beautiful influence. All perfect praise is only for God for all that pleasure.
6. A human being in each of his movements and in bermuamalat the problem of property is under the provisions of Sharia law. So what is permissible is what must be done and what is forbidden by the Shari'a must be abandoned.
Whoever thinks he is free to do his property in making good or bad ways, then the situation is the same as the person who considers the practice or movements of his body to be free is not bound by the rules of the Shari'a. Thus, it makes no difference according to him between paganism and faith, honesty and lies, good and bad deeds, all may be.
Of course, it is clear to us that this is the school of thought (opinion and belief) of the people of Ibahiyyin (who consider everything altered or halal), and they are as evil as evil creatures. And the schools of the people of the Prophet Syu'aib are not much different from this school. Because they deny the Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam which forbids them from the dzalim muamalat, and allows the muamalat besides that. They opposed it because they thought they were free to do anything about their property. Just as this is the words of the people mentioned by God in His word,
"Indeed, buying and selling is the same as usury." (Al-Baqarah: 275)
So, whoever equates between that which is lawful and forbidden by Allah means that he has deviated from his nature and reason, after he has also made a deviation from his religion.
7. People who give advice to others, order (good) and forbid them (from ugliness), so that perfect human acceptance of his advice, then if he orders a good, let him be the first person to do the good. And if he forbids them from an accident, then let him be the first to leave and get away from him.
That is what the Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam said as the word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala,
"And I will not wrong you (by doing) what I forbid." (Hud: 88)
8. The prophets were sent by bringing good and to improve, and prevent the occurrence of crime and damage. Then all the goodness and improvement in the affairs of religion and the world are the teachings of the prophets, especially the priests and the closing of the prophets, namely the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. He has revealed and reiterated this main foundation and has also laid the foundations of great merit, where they walk on it in various worldly affairs, as well as he has laid the main foundations in religious affairs.
9. Basically it is mandatory for each person to strive seriously in goodness and improvement, then it is also obligatory for him to ask for help from his Rabb in that endeavor. And so that he knows that he is unable to do or perfect it except with the help of Allah, as the Prophet Syu'aib ‘alaihissalam said, as in the words of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala,
"And there is no taufik for me but with (help) Allah. Only to God will I surrender and only to Him will I return. "(Hud: 88)
10. A da'i who invites people to return to Allah is in desperate need of courtesy, good morals and the ability to compensate for bad words and deeds directed at him by the opposite deed. And it is appropriate that he does not care about the disturbances of others and does not prevent them at all from his appeal. Such morality is the most perfect only in the apostles shalawatullah wa salamuhu aih alaihim.
So, pay attention to the situation of the Prophet Syu'aib aih alaihissalam and his moral glory with his people. How he invites his people in all kinds of ways, while they actually speak to them bad words and reply to those calls with vile deeds. He aih alaihissalam still showed courtesy, forgiving them and talking to them with sentences that did not come out of people like him other than kindness.
Such morals are the morals of those who succeed and have great luck. And of course the owner has a noble position and eternal enjoyment with Allah. So with this, it becomes easy for him to treat the people who have so damaged their morals, (which for others) is a very difficult matter and even more difficult than trying to dismantle a mountain from the bottom.
Meanwhile his people are constantly immersed in broken beliefs and thoughts and even they exert all of their wealth, soul and body to prioritize and exaggerate above all else.
Do you think that people like them will feel quite satisfied just by saying that their beliefs and thoughts are wrong and corrupt? Or do you think that they will forgive people who berate them and insult their beliefs? Not once, for God's sake.
In fact they really need various ways to improve their beliefs, and that is only the way the apostles call for it. Where the apostles reminded people of the blessings of Allah and that the One who alone gave them pleasure was the one who actually had the right to receive worship, whatever its form. Also the apostles mentioned to them various detailed pleasures and could not be counted by anyone except Allah.
The apostles also reminded that in their convictions and convictions there were damage and irregularities, shocks and conflicts which could damage the faith or faith that pushed to be abandoned.
The apostles also reminded people of the days of God that were before and behind them and His torment that had befallen the people who belied the apostles, denied the monotheism. They reminded that only by believing in Allah and in His belief will get good and benefit and benefit in religion and the world, which of course will attract anyone's heart and make it easy to reach all goals.
With all this, someone needs a good attitude towards them and at a minimum is to be patient with the disturbances and all the evil that arises from them and always say softly with them. And the need to also strive for all the ways that contain wisdom and dialogue with them in various matters by fulfilling a portion of what is permitted (accepted) their souls to perfect.
11. Also pay attention to the need to prioritize the most important things then the next. And the greatest effort to carry out all this is the closing of the prophets and priests of all these creatures, namely the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
Wallahu alam
